A two-year long design/build project involving many students and professors from the Architecture, Building Construction, and Industrial Design programs. Josh Tuminella worked on the project for it's entirety, while Shelton Davis and I jumped in at the final crunch to help him create the signage. My home page image is from one of those late nights making these frames.
The House
...
The signs
The signs are made from 1" square tubing aluminum covered by 1/8" ABS panels with UV-resistant adhesive backed vinyl. The frame is made from a continuous piece of square tube, with reliefs milled into the corners, and bent around a pattern. This creates a smooth, icecream sandwich-esque edge, that is extremely light weight, yet very sturdy.

View walking towards the house with signage.

View walking from house, with backside of signage showing another view of the house.

First panel, informing guests about the project. The viewfinders contained snapshot views of what they are about to see.

Panels describing solar panels and materials used in the house, as well as a sample of the super-fill insulation.

Lighting panel with sample of the LED lights used in the house.

Seriously, a lot of hours went into this house.
